“There are no strings on me.”
After coming in through some sneaky back door that Marvel didn’t notice, the brand new teaser trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron has appeared online, forcing the studio to push their official release of their version a little bit early. Showing our first glimpse of the fatal foe that Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will be facing. He’s unforgiving, he’s evolving and he quotes Pinocchio. Ladies and gentlemen, we’re doomed.

Expected to air in the U.S. during this weeks episode of Agents of SHIELD, Stark and his costumed cohorts have had an unplanned appearance a little earlier and as we expected, things are looking mighty morbid and immensely worrying. Following their first alliance in Avengers AssembleAge of Ultron see our heroes face the titular foe that was made by one of their own. Keen to keep the world in check and himself in his iron suit as little as possible, Stark constructs a robotic aid with the voice of James Spader. Billionaire playboy philanthropist he may well be, but privy to the Terminator films he apparently isn’t as Ultron becomes self-aware and wages all out war on humanity and its heroes.

As clearly displayed in the footage, alliances are tested, shields are shattered and Disney songs are quoted by chilling villains that look to be perfect iterations of Marvel’s most iconic enemies. Joss Whedon looks to have done it again and really, was there ever any doubt?

Set for release May 1, 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. JacksonAaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, James Spader, Cobie Smulders, Thomas Kretschmann, Paul Bettany and Stellan Skarsgard.
