An impressive cast could board Snowpiercer directors next.

If you live in the UK and have impressive Netflix-fixing skills, there’s a chance you may have come across Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer, not that I’d know anything about how to do that, of course. A post-apocalyptic winters tale that hosted an impressive cast, it’s damn near criminal that it hasn’t stopped off in UK cinemas yet. Hopefully, his next big project Okja won’t suffer the same fate, because a film starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Tilda Swinton, Kelly McDonald and Bill Nighy really shouldn’t be missed.

That’s the cast list Bong Joon-ho is gaining so far if talks all come up rosy. At the moment details are fairly slim, but what we do know is that it’ll be a creature feature akin to his 2006 film, The Host. The difference here being that the story will take place in New York and will focus on a bilingual Korean female lead who must tackle the mysterious beastie.

Tilda Swinton in Snowpiercer, that film we’ve never seen but everyone else on the planet has, apparently.

At the minute the only confirmed cast member for the project is Swinton, who did marvellous work with the filmmaker in Snowpiercer. I mean, I hear she did – not that I saw it or anything – because I didn’t. Swear. Either way, expect other potential cast members to give the green light in the coming months. Also, if it actually gets the green light to show in this bloody country, that’d be swell.
