Universal look to have thrown the rulebook into the fire with the latest one-sheets for Guillermo Del Toro’s upcoming gothic horror. Rather than have orange and blue mashed together in their new bits of wall art, they’ve thrown some red in there instead – pretty much the only option when the film is called Crimson Peak.
Following the same fashion from a previous poster, the cast of Del Toro’s upcoming spine-chiller all look a morbid and mysterious bunch, but gorgeous nonetheless. Each character has had their portrait sent out to an array of film sites (not that I’m jealous or anything) including HitFix for Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska at /Film, and the aforementioned Mr. Hiddleston at Collider. See them all below and be sure to keep an eye out for Charlie Hunnam’s that’ll no doubt be on the way.
The film sees Wasikowska as love struck lady who catches the eye of charming nobleman Tom Hiddleston. Soon she’s whisked away to his estate that resides at the top of Crimson Peak, named as such because of the mountain and the blood-red clay it’s made of. Whilst the mountain can’t hide its true colours, what goes on inside the walls of Hiddleston’s home are secretive and supernatural affairs, sending our heroine on a story of horror and madness that’ll probably end with lots and lots of screaming. Delightful.
Crimson Peak will be opening its doors October 19. Viewer discretion and a fresh pair of undies are advised for what looks like a truly terrifying watch. Bring it on.
